Vastu Shastra, originated in India 10,000 years ago. It is known primarily for architecture. The Sanskrit word "vastu" means "energy" or "imperishable substance." "Vaastu" refers to the humanly built forms that are filled with that space energy.
There is an expression in Sanskrit, "Vastu reva vaastu," which means that unbounded pure consciousness, the unmanifest source of all manifestation, transforms into the manifest material world. In other words, as Einstein discovered in the twentieth century, energy becomes matter. It is these same laws of nature, or subtle mechanics of creation, that are utilized in Vastu guidelines.
Though vaastu is conceptually similar to Feng Shui in that it also tries to harmonize the flow of life-energy (prana in Sanskrit or qi in Chinese) through the house, it differs in the details, such as the exact directions in which various objects, rooms, materials etc are to be placed.
Vaastu sastra evolved as a compilation of planning principles for a healthy living based on the knowledge base of the time and Raja adheres to the "Modern Theory of Vaastu".
